rsl12 Great playing of a really fun arrangement! I like the way your playing alternates between jazzy chords, stride, and walking bass. The improvised lines are really nice and I like the way they wander all over the keyboard. I greatly enjoyed listening!

Pathbreaker Arabesque No. 1 by Claude Debussy
Actually classical music isn't my piece of cake. But there are exceptions, Arabesque No. 1 is one of those. Since the start of my piano-journey, it is on the "wishlist". Reserved for later, when I left the beginner stages. You played it wonderfully and I really enjoyed listening to it. Sometimes I felt, the notes could habe been a bit better connected with the pedal. But as I said, I am not an expert in classical music, so take it with a grain of salt. The important thing in the end of the day is the fact that I liked what I heard.

ShiroKuro Song for Gavin by Ludovico Einaudi
You played that one so lush and relaxed, it was a real joy to listen to it. The tempo was just right, with some rubato like breathing in and breathing out. Great blanace between both hands was given as well. If someone told me, this is Einaudi's official recording, I would have said: Of course, what else?

I have one suggestion for improvment, it is

Ehrm... I admire your craftsmanship in leaning the grand against the wall and how well you glued the tablet at this steep angle 🙃

plop_symphony When I first listened I had not read your notes for the piece, and I felt like someone forgot the pedal, but they are otherwise an excellent player.

On reading your notes, I understood what was happening and really appreciated that you choice really highlights that this is a waltz and honestly I can picture a period drama with the elegant ladies and gents waltzing around the room of an imposing mansion. You captured the spirit of the waltz perfectly.

Wow the pensive dark mood of this piece is something else. Impressed how you improvised this. I can imagine this being the musical score for a series like the German TV series Dark.

Peyton Oh my that had me SWINGING, Presley move over, Peyton is in town! Loved everything about it, the lyrics, the natural voice (I really dislike all this auto tuning stuff, that makes it so much less real), the bass line, the sax solo, the awesome piano playing. It could be summarized in "loved it" 🥰

rogerch Very delicately played, Roger. I remember your first attempts at improvisation - with slightly jarring harmonies and still finding your way. You have come such a long way, developing your own style and sounding like you know what you're doing even when you're experimenting. Bravo! 😃

Nightowl That was very nicely played and the quality of the recording is excellent - professional level. There's no need to apologise for playing another piece from Alfred's book 1 - those pieces may be simpler than some, but the final pieces in that book are better than many beginner pieces and can be more challenging than they first seem.

Thank you so much for that boost of confidence! I've been feeling lately that perhaps I haven't been challenging myself as much as I did at the beginning of my piano journey but I just really wanted to get past Book 1 now since I've been working at it for so long. Much appreciated! 🙂

Sophia Very nice, nav! Laura brings back many memories... I had a hate-hate relationship with it and still do 🙂 I think I spent months complaining about how hard it is - it doesn't seem to belong in Alfred 1 at all. But you play it like it wasn't any deal at all, well done! In fact it's been great fun listening to pieces I actually played (or tried to, anyway) as well. Thanks for your lovely rendition of Laura!

pianoloverus Thanks! Yep, that's certainly true of the performances I've listened to. I will approach Chopin's other waltzes more conventionally, so to speak, but I figured I'd try something different for this one since it's a technically easier piece and posthumous.

Congratulations on all your hard work and achievements! I love your fluidity of motion and elegant delicate playing in this piece. The piece seems to ramp up in difficulty all of sudden but you're right there with it no problem. Your performance sounds awesome and is fully memorized! Loved it! Bravo! 👏
